VINTAGE 1930's AM. DBL. GOLD PLATE WRIST STRAP W/ ADJUSTABLE WATCH HOLDER, CHAIN

Description

For the collector of unusual and rare jewelry items:
a vintage 1930's AM. DBL. Gold Plated Wrist Strap W/ Adjustable Watch Holder / Clamp.
(with a gold plated chain attached)
"AM. DBL." refers to American Double,
(pronounced Dublay),
a high quality double-gold plating process used in the 1930's,
creating a lovely gold shading.
The Provenance, or history of this particular family heirloom:
It was first passed down from my great-grandmother to my grandmother,
then to my mother, who remembers it from her grade school years in the 1930's.
Measures approximately 6 1/2" when fully extended open,
the spring loaded cradle or holder itself is 1/4" deep and it adjusts outwards
from 3/4" to 1 1/2" wide allowing several different-sized watches,
apparently including small pocket watches, to fit snugly in the cradle.
In excellent condition / fully operative as shown in the pictures below.
Please note that the three different sized coins
used in the photos to demonstrate the different fittings are not included.
Only one flaw noted:
the clasp lock is slightly bent.
In addition to the AM. DBL. markings, it is also marked with the initials G.K.,
with a star over a half moon in between the two initials.
It would make a unique gift for the collector of unusual and rare jewelry items,
or simply enjoy the pleasure of using it yourself.
