M A Hadley Little Dipper Lot Scoop Crock Vintage American Pottery. Condition is "Used".My mother was married in 1964 and received Hadley dishes for her wedding. These are two of the pieces of her collection that she continued to build on through the 1960s and 70s. I am unsure what function the ‘Little Dipper’ was supposed to serve; maybe a ladel? The funny thing is, my mother used to use a Hadley mug to scoop soup from a pot into bowls…and she had these all along. I have also seen people list them as ‘porridger’ - but I’m wondering if the label is more telling: ‘little dipper’ - meaning a child’s bowl; giving them something sturdy to hang onto while they eat their food….Hmmmmm. 2.25” tall and 3.5” wide at the mouth. They are in excellent, unused condition. There is a dark mark on the end of the handle of one of them - see photos. Perfect addition to your collection - use them…that’s what they’re meant for.
